Seminar: Introductory Topics in Quantum and Photonic Computing

In this seminar, we will cover basics of quantum computing and photonic computing, focusing on the mathematical perspective, see the list of possible topics. Talks may be given in English or German.

Preliminary knowledge is not necessarily required as we will cover the relevant basics. However, if you already have basic knowledge on quantum computing and/or photonic computing (e.g., if you have attended the lecture Numerical Analysis on Quantum Computers, it is also possible to give a talk about more in-depth aspects

We plan to have the seminar as a block course within a few weeks in November/December. Possible slots are Monday, 11:30am - 1:00pm, and Tuesday, 9:45am - 1:00pm. The exact times will be decided with the group of interested students.

We will distribute the topics on Wednesday, July 29, 1:15pm in the meeting room 3.064 (next to the student corner). If you are generally interested in the seminar, please also send Roland Maier an email in advance. You may already indicate possible topics.

In case you missed the meeting on July 29, you may still participate and take one of the topics that is left. Please also send Roland Maier an email in this case
